  • SABOTAGE - FRI 4 MAY 8pm

    A four piece rock band comprising; Luica Zorzi-Lead Vocals Al Coles-Lead&Vocals Warren Black-Bass Guitar Brett Bradley-Drums&Vocals All four members have been actively involved in the north coast scene for over 20 years and have worked with a number of bands including Flying Time, Black Brothers, Lui&the boy, Kiss my Art, DC10, Airtime, The Mutated Noddies, Al Gone, Black Lable, and multi Dolphin Award winning band Risky Business. The music they play ranges from '60's to today, and incudes music from such bands as Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, The Divinyls, Guns&Roses, Bob Jovi, Green Day, Nickelback, Adam Lambert, Pink,& Foo Fighters just to name a few. Their vast setlist and professional attitude enables them to play to any crowd and therefore suit just about any venue.   • SISKIN RIVER - Saturday 5th May 7.30pm

    Siskin River returns to The Aussie! This combination of sisters Shalane and Tullara Connors, combines Tullaras' unique style of guitar shredding and percussive tapping with Shalanes' rich and earthy vocals. The pair have produced a new style of music with a mixture of blues, roots, and folk. The duo have performed at a number of festivals including 'Woodford Folk Festival' and 'The National Folk Festival.' Travelling where they will, and writing as they go, they recently recorded an EP set for release in February 2012.

  • MICHAEL PETER & THE MAGIC FLEA Friday 11 May 8pm

    Michael Peter is a singer/songwriter that loves telling a musical story and entertaining a crowd. His songs are an acoustic mix of folk, roots, soul, pop and rock that he has toured extensively all over Australia building a reputation as a captivating live act. Each of his songs has it's own unique story, heartfelt vocal and a soulful melody accompanied with open and intriguing lyrics. Rip It Up describes him as “a truly original sound to drive to, smile to and sing along in front of the mirror to. Michael’s music is the kind that truly connects with you” (April 2008). With the support of Triple J's Roots n All program, community radio, and Fogsongs publishing Michael has been enjoying the hard earned recognition as “An earnest, raw, promising new artist” (The Sunday Telegraph 01/06/2008).

    2010 saw Michael begin writing songs for his 2nd album. It was a project that became very close to his heart and took Michael and producer Andrew Beck on a musical journey that was to last almost 2 years. The resulting album "Awake With Birds" is warm, eclectic and multi-layered, full of musical storytelling and intriguing lyrics. Described by Michael as his best work to date, the album was recorded mostly live to tape at Damien Gerard Studios Sydney. The first single off it "Skin on Skin" was released in July 2011. Accompanying its release was Michaels first film clip which has already received multiple plays on the TV show RAGE and gained enthusiastic support from fans antisipating the next installment of songs. The Album was released in March 2012; the single "Balance Beam" jumped to the top of the Triple J Unearthed charts and still remains in the top 100 overall and top 20 in its genre. Track 2 off the album "Narrogin Blues" received airplay from Triple J's Roots and All program.

    Having been in album compilations with the likes of Paul Kelly, John Butler and Ray Lamontagne, and supported the live shows of Jeff Martin, Billy Thorpe, Daryl Braithwaite and Angie Hart, Michael has built a reputation as a charismatic and mesmerizing songwriter and live act that mixes heart-felt vocals and unique and thoughtful stories sure to strike a chord with deep thinkers, loyal dreamers and lovers of love.

    Kathryn Jones is one hot blooded woman, singin' and swingin' her way into town with a booty of ukuleles, acoustic guitars and cowboys galore. This self styled cowgirl brings a fresh flavour to town blending country roots with contemporary folk. Described as having a passionate voice, likened to June Carter, Loretta Lynn and Jeannie C. Riley, Kathryn has been performing relentlessly since launching her debut EP in 2007.

    After nabbing the ‘Best Lyrics’ award and being nominated for “Best Female Vocalist” at the 2009 Dolphin Awards, Kathryn continued her ride performing, writing and recording as well as touring alongside Clelia Adams at the Tamworth Country Music festival and the Gympie Muster. Kathryn’s new album "Yesterday's News" is being embraced by country audiences with her first single “Hell of a Ride" hitting the Mildura national charts and steadily rising.

    The Liquid Search is a high energy 3 piece based in the Northern Rivers area. Scott Day_V, an established soloist, joins with Jack Thurgood (bass) and Gavin Burton (Drums) to deliver unique funked up, rocked out versions of pub favourites.

    The Liquid Search present a surf driven set list ranging from the coastal chillout of Jack Johnson, the blues and roots of John Butler to the punk edge of Grinspoon. They also deliver a long list of rock classics from artists such as Cold Chisel, Australian Crawl, INXS, Paul Kelly and many others. 'The Liquid Search' are currently working on their first single, "touch the sea".
